The Role

East Harbor Financial is hiring a Closing Agent to own deal execution from approval through funding. Our team closes secured loans on marine vessels, aircraft, commercial real estate, and charter fleets — this isn't the same loan type on repeat. You'll manage documentation, perfect liens, coordinate all parties, and ensure seamless operational execution on every transaction. We close in 2–4 weeks, so precision and speed both matter here.

What You'll Do

• Manage the closing process end-to-end across multiple collateral types — marine, real estate, aircraft, and commercial equipment
• Ensure every closing package is complete, accurate, and audit-ready — you're the last line of defense before we fund
• Perfect lien positions by recording mortgages, and confirming lien status
• Coordinate funds flows, disbursements, broker fees, prepaid interest, and escrow figures through to settlement
• Liaise with borrowers, attorneys, title companies, and insurance providers to keep closings on schedule
• Conduct pre-close and post-close due diligence — ensure all compliance documentation, KYC/AML deliverables, and deal files are complete before funding
• Identify process improvements to streamline closing workflows as deal volume scales

Required

• 2+ years in loan closing, settlement, credit operations, or lending operations — or an accounting/paralegal background with direct lending exposure
• We prioritize capability over tenure — if you have fewer years but can demonstrate sharp analytical thinking and a strong body of work, we want to hear from you
• Accounting or finance background — you'll reconcile figures, manage funds flows, and work with financials daily
• Working knowledge of loan documentation: promissory notes, UCC filings, title insurance, security agreements
• Ability to manage multiple closings with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Paralegal Studies

Preferred

• Experience with non-traditional collateral (marine vessels, aircraft, specialty equipment)
• Familiarity with KYC/AML compliance, post-close portfolio monitoring, or loan servicing platforms (LoanPro)
• Experience coordinating with credit committees or investment operations teams
• Bilingual English/Spanish
