Commercial Loan Officer — Private Lending
Compensation: $70,000–$130,000
Location: Miami (Doral), FL (On-Site)
Reports To: CEO
The Role
East Harbor Financial is hiring a Deal Originator to source, structure, and advance new lending opportunities across marine vessels, aircraft, real estate, and commercial vehicles. This is a revenue-generating seat — you'll own the pipeline from initial sourcing through credit committee presentation and underwriting handoff. Our team closes deals in 2–4 weeks, and a full-production originator here can realistically book well into six figures with commission.
What You'll Do
- Source and evaluate new lending opportunities through broker relationships, direct outreach, and industry events
- Build and manage a referral network of intermediaries, attorneys, financial advisors, and deal brokers across our target asset classes
- Perform preliminary credit analysis — borrower financials, tax returns, collateral valuation, and deal sizing — before advancing to underwriting
- Structure deal terms alongside our CFO — loan amount, rate, LTV, and collateral requirements
- Present deals to our credit committee with a clear investment thesis and risk assessment
- Maintain pipeline reporting and deal flow visibility to senior leadership
- Conduct due diligence coordination with borrowers, attorneys, and third-party vendors
- Represent the firm at conferences and networking events in marine, aviation, real estate, and specialty finance
Required
- 3+ years in deal origination, business development, or relationship management in lending, private credit, or financial services
- We prioritize capability over tenure — if you have fewer years but can demonstrate sharp analytical thinking and a strong body of work, we want to hear from you
- Demonstrated ability to source and close deals — we value results over resumes
- Accounting or finance background with comfort in financial modeling, reading financials, and analyzing tax returns
- Existing network in marine, real estate, aircraft, or the broker community that serves these asset classes
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
Preferred
- Direct experience in private credit, specialty lending, or alternative lending
- Familiarity with UCC filings, title/lien searches, collateral valuation, or asset-based lending structures
- Experience presenting to credit committees or investment committees
- Bilingual English/Spanish
